Hello, I'm Natalie, the counsellor behind Pathway 2 Wellness.

I know that deciding to reach out for counselling can feel like a really difficult step. You may have been trying to manage things on your own for a long time, or perhaps something has happened that has left you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, lost or simply not quite like yourself.

Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to have everything figured out before you ask for help.

My aim is to provide a calm, welcoming and confidential space where you can talk openly, without judgement, and feel genuinely heard.

A little about me

11+ Years of Counselling Experience

Specialist Bereavement Experience

For five years, I ran a dedicated bereavement counselling service with Age UK, supporting people through different experiences of grief and loss. Alongside counselling, I managed and supported a team of volunteer counsellors and helped train student counsellors.

I am a qualified counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Therapeutic Studies and many years of experience supporting people through difficult and often life-changing experiences.

Over the years, I've worked within charitable and community settings, developing particular experience in supporting people experiencing grief, loss, anxiety and emotional difficulties.

Everyone's circumstances are different, and counselling should reflect the person sitting in front of me.

Alongside my professional work, I also have experience providing private counselling, supporting people with a range of personal and emotional difficulties.

My approach to counselling

I don't believe counselling should be about telling you what you should do.

Instead, I work collaboratively with you to understand what is happening and explore what might help you move forward.

My approach combines Person-Centred Counselling with Mindful Cognitive Therapies, allowing us to work collaboratively while developing practical strategies that can support you outside of the counselling room.

Our sessions will be shaped around you, your experiences and what you want from counselling.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about before your first session. Sometimes simply having somewhere safe to put everything you've been carrying can be the beginning of change.

I will listen without judgement, help you make sense of what you're experiencing and support you to explore things at a pace that feels manageable for you.

My Areas of Specialist Support

I provide specialist counselling for:

Grief & Bereavement

Grief can affect every part of life. Whether you have recently lost someone or are struggling with a loss that happened some time ago, counselling can provide a safe space to talk about what you're experiencing.

Pet Bereavement

The loss of a much-loved pet can be devastating. Your relationship with your pet matters, and your grief deserves to be recognised and understood.

Anxiety & Overthinking

When anxiety begins to affect your thoughts, relationships, sleep or everyday life, it can feel exhausting. Counselling can help you understand your anxiety and develop healthier ways of responding to it.

OCD & Intrusive Thoughts

Unwanted thoughts and compulsive behaviours can be distressing and difficult to explain to others. I provide specialist support for OCD and intrusive thoughts, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and personalised fear hierarchies, helping you gradually break the cycle of anxiety and compulsive behaviours.

Health Anxiety

Worry about your health can become overwhelming and make it difficult to switch off from symptoms, sensations or thoughts about illness. Counselling can help you explore the anxiety underneath these worries and find ways to feel more in control.

Men's Mental Health

Many men find it difficult to talk about how they are feeling or may have spent years managing things alone. Counselling provides a confidential space where you can speak openly without judgement.

What can you expect from counselling with me?

I want you to feel comfortable being yourself.

You won't be judged, rushed or expected to have the right words.

We can talk about what is happening in your life, explore difficult thoughts and feelings, and work together to understand what you need.

Sometimes counselling is about processing something that has happened.

Sometimes it's about understanding yourself better.

Sometimes it's about finding a way forward when you feel completely stuck.

Whatever your reason for seeking support, my role is to walk alongside you rather than tell you which direction you should take.

Why Pathway 2 Wellness?

I created Pathway 2 Wellness because I believe counselling should feel approachable, compassionate and human.

Taking that first step can be daunting, particularly if you've never experienced counselling before.

That's why I aim to make the process as straightforward and comfortable as possible, whether you choose face-to-face counselling in Prudhoe or online counselling.

You can bring whatever you need to the session. There is no expectation that you have to pretend everything is okay.

This is your space.

You don't have to keep carrying everything on your own

If something in your life is becoming difficult to manage, you don't have to wait until things reach breaking point before seeking support.

Taking the first step doesn't mean that you're failing.

It means you're choosing to look after yourself.

If you feel that counselling could help, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Not sure whether counselling is right for you? We can have a brief, informal conversation about what's bringing you to counselling and whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
